Just a rather quick little manip to get back into the hang of things. It only took me a few or maybe several hours, but mostly because I was an idiot and didn't save while I was cutting out the foal and reindeer. I had them all cut out and the mane and tail done on the foal (with the lovely pen pressure), then I unplugged my laptop to take it somewhere (the battery doesn't hold a charge so every time my computer is unplugged it restarts) and lost all that work. All the cutting out. On all those various prongs of the reindeer's antlers. And on the foal, which I had cut out considerably better than the reindeer XD I have to use the plain old eraser tool for cutting things out, because my version of Photoshop doesn't have the pen tool (poor pitiful Elements). Yes, it's a pain in the butt.
Anyway, other than that mishap I quite enjoyed doing this. Like I said, it was quick, so nothing is at all perfect; my gaussian blurring of the background is hideous and my outlining and mane and tail are also kind of awful XP

Something that I would change would be the reindeer. It's VERY confusing to me that its legs are behind that tree and it's face isn't. While, I can see where it could happen, it's odd because the tree (that's in front of its legs) is blurred like it's in the background while the reindeer's legs are not. I also find it odd that the tree has blur at the top and not the bottom.
The outline on the foal is a little distracting since the foal is so dark in comparison to the white lines. You don't always need to use pure white!
Grounding of the foal is well done, while grounding of the reindeer needs a little work.
I like the idea of this piece and I think you did pretty well.
